Many people are currently struggling to find the right job. Or to get an interview at all.
But don’t give up: Sometimes It’s not you or your talent, but the field or the specific job family. Because professions are changing: Find out how UX/UI designers became UX/AI designers.
In the current economic situation, companies are cutting back and demand in certain areas or regions is simply no longer as high.
Jobs are also being relocated abroad because it’s cheaper. Of course, you can also go overseas: How about working 1–2 years in Hong Kong, Dubai or Milan as part of the VIE program?
The World Economic Forum “WEF” (World Economic Forum) has, among many other insights, identified the fastest growing and declining job profiles in a report:
The good news: There are very many areas with excellent career opportunities. However, it’s only a prediction. Not a guarantee.
Things may turn out very differently for a variety of reasons, or completely new professions may emerge that are not even mentioned here yet. Check out the 7 promising professions for UX designers.
So it’s worth exploring other options. Maybe there’s a related field that’s busy hiring and you can shine?

Big data and artificial intelligence

⚡️ AI and Machine Learning Specialists develop futre-ready systems that learn independently.
⚡️ Data Analysts and Scientists turn data into smart business strategies.
⚡️ Data Warehousing Specialists ensure secure and efficient data management.
User Experience
⚡️ UX Designers develop digital solutions such as apps and websites intuitively.
IT, Cybersecurity and Software Development
⚡️ Software and Applications Developers are coding the apps and programs of tomorrow, despite the low-code, no-code trend.
⚡️ FinTech Engineers are a rather unknown term and develop solutions with a special focus on the financial sector.
⚡️ DevOps Engineers ensure seamless IT processes.
⚡️ Security Management Specialists protect companies from digital threats.
⚡️ Information Security Analysts keep data and systems secure.
Future Mobility and Smart Technologies

But wait a minute: UX designer, developer… how does fit in with the current situation?
Especially in the tech bubble, it feels more like 2025 is not the year of the boom. There have been many uncertainties and the job market remains tight, especially for designers and tech experts. So, is there hope that things will improve soon?
But even if you don’t get a job straight away, you should continue your learning journey in these exciting areas. For example, you could do a short course at UAL in London to learn creative skills and gain international experience.
Now is the perfect time to gain skills in these areas. No matter if it’s a university degree, further training or a career change.
