At what time should I send my application?

To be honest, many people ask this simple question, and it is absolutely valid.

When you put effort into an application, you obviously want to do everything right.

The good news is that time of day doesn’t really matter anymore.

Those who apply as early as possible have the best chances. These are the top jobs of the future until 2030.

💻 Why the time hardly matters anymore

Many companies today use digital application portals or automated HR systems.

It doesn’t matter when you send your application. It ends up in a database with all the others anyway.

Whether it’s 2 AM or 2 PM, Sunday or Tuesday: the system treats everyone the same. Of course, there is no screening on weekends.

Your application will not be taken less seriously just because you are a night owl.

It is more important that the application is complete and convincing. Job hugging: What’s behind the phenomenon.

🕗 Possibly Exception: Small businesses

There may be a slight difference for smaller companies or start-ups. HR managers there often check their inbox or HR tool (usually in the morning).

But now there are very flexible settings and even notifications on mobile phones. Just as applicants can apply anytime, anywhere, recruiters have also become flexible.

If your application is at the top of the inbox at the start of the working day, you have a slight advantage: it will be one of the first to be seen.

This means that if you write in the evening or at night, you can simply send it the next morning between 7 and 9 AM. Also, make sure to optimize your LinkedIn profile.

🌅 A general rule

Whether it’s 2 AM, 8 AM, or 6 PM, the main thing is to apply early.

Speed is important not just during the day, but throughout the entire process. This also applies to weekends and holidays. Use your time off wisely to upskill with a short course at UAL in London.

Although there are studies that have identified various preferred times, this can vary greatly from company to company and is therefore not very meaningful.

In an international environment, applicants are in very different time zones anyway.
